MY EXPECTATION FOR THE SUMMERSCHOOL 2018 WAS...

  • …”fun seminar and hands on”

  • …”advanced periodontal treatment”

  • …”current technologies that are used in periodontal treatment”

  • …”I was a bit afraid to come”

  • …”increase my knowledge in the periodontal field of dentistry”

  • …”substantially less than what I have experienced”

  • …”to see periodontology in a new perspective and to gain new experiences for studying abroad”

  • …”gaining new knowledge in perio and making new friends”

  • …”not disappointed and it#s necessary to have another summerschool in advanced level”

  • …”learning about current issues in periodontology and implantology”

  • …”fun, active learning”

  • …”gaining more experiences, knowledge and skills to improve my knowledge as a dentist”

  • …”to get an outlook of how the perio standards are in Europe an see the similarities and differences compared to Indonesia”

  • …”to learn how to retain the tooth and keep them from extraction”

  • …”an exciting but boring program full of theory in implantology”

 


IN FACT, MY EXPERIENCE IN THE 2 WEEKS OF SUMMERSCHOOL WAS...

  • …”one of the best experiences of my life”

  • …”very nice”

  • …”extremely great, I enjoyed every moment”

  • …”precious for me”

  • …”amazing! I enjoyed the program, the experiences and I loved meeting new people”

  • …”great to support my fundamental periodontology”

  • …”very tiring”

  • …”I’m satisfied with this summerschool”

  • …”fun and unpredictable! I’m very happy and enjoyed every moment here”

  • …”happy and fun, sometimes I was tired but interested”

  • …”meeting natives, people from all over the world and doing adventurous things in Heidelberg”

  • …”not just….but physical training”

  • …”I have learned new things and methods, there are many differences in the procedures and the current treatment has advanced so much”

  • …”I have learned much more, for example to perform the treatment evidence based and that there are many alternatives to maintain a tooth”

  • …”So much fun! We got to learn more about basic periodontology and also practical/clinicalperiodontology. Not to forget the excursion Program that was so exciting and interesting”




IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF...

  • …”there had been more interactive lecture”

  • …”more advanced periodontology”

  • …”I had known a little bit about periodontology”

  • …”study time can be extended”

  • …”I could buy some instruments or dental

  • …”it had been longer”

  • …”there had been Indonesian food”

  • …”less walking”

  • …”there had been more hands-on courses”

  • …”longer time of courses and hands-on and if I could see a live-operation directly at the patient”

  • …”we had had more interactive lectures, especially at Prof. Eickholz sessions”

  • …”the activities after class had been a bit more loose and hadn’t gone until night.

  • …”had been more hands-on, every day”

  • …”we had practiced more cases in class and had done more hands-on, maybe theory in one week and practical courses the other week.

  • …”I hab also learned how to use laser and electro surgery”




DURING THE 2 WEEKS I MISSED...

DURING THE 2 WEEKS I APPRECIATED...

  • …”cooperation of Heidelberg members”

  • …”food that was served in the seminar room”

  • …”the practical courses/hands-on courses” / “the lectures”

  • …”time given by the teacher to teach patiently”

  • …”making new friends”

  • …”the city of Heidelberg”

  • …”the help from all residents (Toni, Katja, Sonja, Susan, Carlota etc.)”

  • …”all the people I have met and who had been so kind to help me out”

  • …”the new friends and the culture”

  • …”the hospitality of the team (Prof. Kim, assistants and residents), they made me feel welcomed”

  • …”all lectures/hands-on, especially by Prof. Mertens, Prof. Schlagenhauf & of course Prof.Kim”

  • …”the activity after class was interesting and a great traveling experience”

  • …”the effort given by Prof. Kim and the residents to facilitate our evening activities”

  • …”the kindness of Prof. Kim and all the staff and their effort to supply vegan food for snacks”

  • …”the service and friendship towards all of us, we are so glad to meet you all and hope the friendship grows even after the end of summerschool




THE MOST IMPRESSIVE ASPECT WAS...

  • …”the hands- on course, especially the block graft”

  • …”Prof. Kims skill to explain difficult aspects in simple words”

  • …”teaching methods can be understood easily”

  • …”Prof. Kims lectures make you think evidence based”

  • …”completely changing the comprehension of periodontology and treatment”

  • …”we enjoyed Europe a lot, even if it was very hot!”

  • …”the shield technique, I now want to learn this more detailed”

  • …”hiking in the dark”

  • …”the tools and facilities provided at the hands-on courses”

  • …”when we were walking along the riverside after class to get dinner. It was the first experience for me walking that long in the afternoon at summertime”

  • …”the very conservative point of view, extraction as a very, very, very last resort”

  • …”there are prayer rooms in Heidelberg!  “

  • …”Hands-on were really great, the tools that support the training and the tutors who explained

  • …”I admire the way of Prof. Kim to teach us with passion. She opened my mind how I should treat my patients.”



WHAT WILL LAST IN MY MEMORY...

  • …”hiking up the Thingstätte and going home in the dark, it was a lot of fun!”

  • …”Prof. Kim and the hiking tour”

  • …”the sense of kinship that I got during this summer school”

  • …”the beauty of the city, the hospitality of Heidelberg people and the hiking in the dark”

  • …”the beauty of the city and its peoples kindness”

  • …”hiking the mountain together with Prof. Kim. It has been my first experience to hike and feel tired. Maybe in our country I’ll try to walk more.”
